Classical:NEXT Opening Night at KühlhausBerlin, 12 May 2025

In true Classical:NEXT style, the Opening Night will bring an extraordinary event to KühlhausBerlin, one of the city’s hippest venues. Just like Berlin itself, this storied building has reinvented itself, from storage space to art gallery and event space, to become a cultural landmark in the heart of the city.

The opening event will feature musical interludes on several floors with a spectacular lineup of local and international artists, including pianists Hanni Liang, Anton Gerzenberg, Michael Wendeberg and Georgijs Osokins, violinist Clarissa Bevilacqua, Shuteen Erdenebaatar and Nils Kugelmann in a piano-contralto clarinet duo, cellist Josefine Opsahl, pianist Giorgi Gigashvili performing with singer Nino Nutsubidze, Vision String Quartet, DSO Chamber Music Ensemble, DieOrdnungDerDinge ensemble, and Babylon ORCHESTRA.

This year’s Opening Night will be more than just a concert; it is a shared artistic experience, an invitation to reflect, connect, and participate. In times of uncertainty, art and music have the power to create spaces for human connection, reflection, and hope. This year’s Opening is an exemplification of that spirit.

As guests arrive, they will be welcomed with a simple yet powerful gesture: a flower bearing the words “make a wish.” Throughout the evening, everyone is invited to write down a personal wish and place their flower into a communal vase. As the evening unfolds, this evolving bouquet becomes a symbol of peace, solidarity, and shared humanity. It is an artwork in motion that will remain present throughout the Classical:NEXT event.
