Fridays for Future - Another world is possible

“Schulstreik für das Klima” – Vor Fünf Jahren setzte sich Greta Thunberg zum ersten mal vor das schwedische Parlament mit ihrem Schild. Es war nicht abzusehen, dass die Wiederholung dieser Aktion eine riesige internationale Jugendbewegung auslösen würde, die bis zu 10 Millionen Menschen auf die Straße brachte. Eine bewegte Zeit liegt hinter uns, geprägt von Fridays for Future, die die Klimapolitik und unsere Gesellschaft tiefgreifend verändert haben. Im Vorfeld des globalen Klimastreiks am 15. September präsentieren Aktivist*innen von Fridays for Future am 25. und 26. August eine Fotoausstellung.

Die Pop-Up-Ausstellung wird von zwei Fotograf*innen kuratiert und beinhaltet Beiträge von über 20 weiteren aus der Bewegung, um ein facettenreiches Bild unserer Aktionen und unserer Geschichte zu bieten.

Gemeinsam machen wir die intensiven Momente der letzten fünf Jahre sichtbar – von den Aktionen im Hambacher Forst über die großen Schulstreiks bis hin zu den aktuellen Ereignissen. Die Ausstellung zeigt nicht nur die Höhen und Tiefen des Aktivismus, sondern gibt auch einen intimen Einblick in das, was es bedeutet, Teil dieser Bewegung zu sein.

Sie bietet sowohl Kunst- und Kulturinteressierten die Möglichkeit, die Bewegung aus einer neuen Perspektive zu erleben, als auch Raum für Reflexion und Begegnung für alle, die sich für Klimagerechtigkeit einsetzen.

Wir laden alle herzlich ein, mit uns in Erinnerungen zu tauchen und einen Blick in die Zukunft zu werfen.

“School strike for the climate” – Five years ago, Greta Thunberg sat  in front of the Swedish parliament for the first time with her sign. It was not foreseeable that the repetition of this action would trigger a huge international youth movement that brought up to 10 million people onto the streets. An eventful time lies behind us, marked by Fridays for Future who profoundly changed climate policy and our society. In the run-up to the global climate strike on September 15, activists from Fridays for Future will present a photo exhibition on August 25 and 26.

The pop-up exhibition is curated by two photographers and includes contributions from over 20 others from the movement. It offer a multi-faceted portrayal of our actions and our history as a movement.

Together the intense moments of the last five years – from the actions in Hambacher Forst to the big school strikes and current events are made visible. The exhibition not only shows the highs and lows of activism, but also gives an intimate insight into what it means to be part of this movement.

It offers both art and culture enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the movement from a new perspective, as well as space for reflection and encounter for all those working for climate justice.
