Nudity has always been a culturally refined and concrete expression. For the queer community, nudity is also a political concept: a rebellion against patriarchal authority. Through the act of baring our bodies, we challenge the socially imposed male and female symbols, revealing them as mere constructs. “Temple of the Body” serves as an action to subvert mainstream norms and values.

In this exhibition, Teng-Chi Yang decodes his father’s videos, sparking intimate dialogues on sexuality and identity. Chien-Wen Lin’s works, displayed through time, delve into subcultural diversity through photography and auditory experiments. Piercer LUNA(2lu9) from Taipei transforms body piercing into art, exploring her fascination with human organs. Photographer Masha Demianova takes us on a visual journey through symbols and archetypes, and Sara Herrlander documents her surroundings with a raw, childlike sincerity.

We’ve gathered three diverse collectives, connecting Asian and European queer energy for these 2 days of a group exhibition, panels, workshops and music, including a choker-making seminar by Woo Yeah, My Body is a Temple Bodies Painting Workshop led by Yun-Pei Hsiung in collaboration with VR Hermes by Benedict Yu, and thought-provoking panels on modern pornography, queerness in Asia and racism host by Gemnital.

Saturday evening promises a magical garden finale, with DJs spinning a diverse and uplifting soundscape that celebrates the inclusive power of music. Join us on this extraordinary journey of creativity, self-expression, and meaningful dialogue.
